Carnifloor - Engulfed In Gold

So if you’re not familiar with the Dutch one-man project Carnifloor, you will have to go back to the first full length ‘Process Of Disorderly Conduct’ or if you really want to go back, then listen to the ‘Demo 2013’. The main man behind Carnifloor is the guitarist of Korpse, Floor van Kuijk and let’s see how he made caveman-slam his current trademark.

If you’re going to compare ‘Process Of Disorderly Conduct’ with ‘Engulfed In Blood’ you’re in for a heck of a lot of change soundwise. He went from the typical slam sound to a more of a Cerebral Incubation style of slam. Aka: Caveman-slam has made its debut in The Netherlands in the form of ‘Engulfed In Gold’. There are some adaptations to the Dutch caveman-slam. You will need to add the grills of Milan Moskon (Epicardiectomy)  and the trackpants of Alex Terrible (Slaughter To Prevail) and then you will have the Dutch caveman-slam. Don’t forget those extremely heavy filthy bass drops Floor adds at just the right moment.

But what does that all sound together? You will have a new experience while listening to Carnifloor. He pours all of his creativity and genres he loves in his project and it makes sense. Slam and rap? Hell yeagh. It has been the first time since Operation Cunt Destroyer since I heard these two genres get combined. It isn’t the old rap you know and love but you will experience the ‘newer’ genre of ‘Dark Rap’ or ‘Horrorcore’. But this is mainly an extra to the heavy slams and brutal death metal elements that are the main attraction during ‘Engulfed In Blood’.

Absolute filth during the whole album. The comparison with his previous release ‘Process Of Disorderly Conduct’ is noticeable. Basically the whole sound has made a big change in the more positive way. The sound has become more fatter and the drums are phenomenal.

Put in your grills, punt on your gold chain and put on some shorts and slam the shit out of this amazing new release of Carnifloor.
